There are very small number of international games in football apart from FIFA world cup which come once in 4 Years. Indian football team (Blue Tigers) was playing international friendly match almost after 1 Year. Blue tigers has lost to UAE by 6-0.
Indian football fans are calling for Igor Stimac (Indian team head coach) to be sacked already. India has fielded a B team, all Big stars and Senior players were missing from the team.
Few positives from the game
Striker Manvir Singh in the absence of Sunil Chhetri played really well. The Punjab striker came to national side after a successful ISL (Indian Super League) season. he scored six goals and made three assists for ATK Mohun Bagan (West Bengal).
Indian defenders had a horrible time against the UAE. But one positive from the game was Aakash from Hyderabad FC. He had a decent game to cement his spot in the national side.
India are currently rank 104 in FIFA ranking table. India were playing UAE rank 74 team. This was one of worst game for Indian football team. The worst since 14 November 2010 when India lost to Kuwait by 9-1 in a friendly match in Abu Dubai.
Indian golkeeper Gurpreet singh sandhu said matches like these are biggest learnings for us.
It was a real tough test for a us, I know the feeling is the same to get back out there and do well for the country. Matches like these are a massive learning experience for all of us.
